Gold Milk Latte

Benefits


The drink of sunshine. Golden milk is a wonderful drink with powerful healing properties. It's main ingredient turmeric is known around the world for its health benefits and has been used to strengthen the immune system in traditional Ayurvedic Medicine. Origin of Asia, turmeric is a root, similar to ginger which can be found fresh or in a powdered form. The benefits of turmeric seem endless. It's filled with antioxidants, anti-inflammatory compounds and magnesium just to name a few. Golden milk is quick and easy to make which is why it's the perfect way to start incorporating this superfood into your diet.

Ingredients


  • 1 Cup of Milk

  • 1/2 Tbsp of Honey

  • 1/2 Tbsp of Coconut Oil

  • 1 Tsp of Ground Organic Turmeric

  • 1/2 Tsp of Cinnamon

  • Pinch of Fresh Black pepper

  • 1/2 Inch grated Ginger (Optional)

Instructions


  1. In a saucepan add all ingredients whisking them together on medium high heat until it comes to a boil. Be sure to wish your milk to prevent any burning. Once boiled, lower the heat and bring the mixture to a light simmer for 5 minutes.

  2. Strain the mixture to remove ground pepper flakes and pieces of ginger.

  3. This step is optional but I enjoy giving my drink one final blend with a miniature milk frother. This helps to create a lovely layer of milk foam on the top of the latte and ensures that the turmeric is completely blended into the drink. Enjoy.
